These awards provide an opportunity for Indigenous peoples to share inspiring stories of individuals who are working towards the betterment of Indigenous communities and organizations. Additionally, they aim to create pathways in financial management for Indigenous youth.

Recipients of the award have the opportunity to attend AFOA Canada's National Conference, where they can participate in a special youth program designed to introduce them to careers in Indigenous finance and management. They also become eligible for a scholarship of up to $5,000.
